The HR Officer will play a pivotal role in supporting the HR functions within their agricultural operations.
This position requires a proactive individual who can handle a range of HR activities, from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations and performance management. The ideal candidate will have experience in the agricultural sector, understanding the unique challenges and opportunities it presents.
Principal Duties / Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding:
Manage end-to-end recruitment processes for both permanent and seasonal staff, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and selection.
Coordinate onboarding activities, ensuring new hires receive comprehensive orientation and training.
Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential candidates for future needs.
Employee Relations:
Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
Handle employee grievances and disciplinary issues in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
Promote a culture of open communication and mutual respect.
Performance Management:
Assist in the development and implementation of performance management systems, including setting performance goals and conducting appraisals.
Support managers in identifying and addressing performance issues and developing improvement plans.
Monitor and track employee performance and development metrics.
HR Policies and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations.
Update and maintain HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are communicated and understood by all staff.
Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to HR policies and practices.
Training and Development:
Identify training needs and coordinate training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
Support the implementation of continuous learning and development initiatives.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
Payroll and Benefits Administration:
Assist in the administration of payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Coordinate employee benefits programs, including health insurance, pensions, and other perks.
Address employee queries related to payroll and benefits.
HR Reporting and Data Management:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
Prepare regular HR reports and metrics to support decision-making.
Utilize HR systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
To be successful in the role, the candidates should meet the following requirements
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional HR certification is an advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR, preferably within the agricultural sector.
Demonstrated experience in recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
Skills:
Strong understanding of HR principles and practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
