Job Description
We are seeking diligent and detail-oriented Data Collectors to assist in conducting the Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) in selected schools across the sampled LGAs in Sokoto, Bauchi and Adamawa. The EGRA is designed to evaluate the reading skills of early-grade pupils to inform educational interventions. Data Collectors will play a crucial role in gathering accurate and reliable data to support this important educational initiative.

Ensure the precise and reliable collection of data on early-grade reading abilities.
Contribute to a broader understanding of literacy levels among early-grade pupils to support evidence-based decision-making in education.
Supervisors Role and Responsibilities
The scope of work for supervisors overseeing EGRA data collection encompasses a variety of responsibilities to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and validity of the data collected. Below is a comprehensive outline of their scope of work:
Preparation and Planning:
Support in the training of Data Collectors by providing leadership during group works and coordinating the assigned team.
Development of schedules for data collection, including timelines, school visits, and logistical arrangements.
Coordinate the assigned team during data collection and report accordingly on performance.
Monitoring and Supervision:
On-site Supervision: Visit schools to observe the data collection process, ensuring adherence to standardized administration procedures.
Real-time Problem Solving: Address any issues that arise during data collection, such as difficulties in accessing schools, technical problems, or logistics challenges.
Quality Control: Check the accuracy and completeness of data collected on-site. Ensure data collectors are following the correct procedures and protocols.
Data Management and Review:

Access to a smartphone and ability to use it proficiently.
Familiarity with the school system and educational institutions.
Domicile in the sampled LGA.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead a team.
Prior experience in EGRA data collection or survey administration is required.
