Job Title: Mechanical Technician
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
About the Job
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the daily operation, inspections and maintenance of Mechanical systems.
Also, assist the mechanical engineer in testing, perfecting and maintaining operating machinery and equipment.
Responsibilities
Support in the inspection of all mechanical equipment and auxiliaries.
Assist on maintenance overhaul on defective mechanical systems.
Maintain parts and tools inventory.
Identifying faulty machines or equipment.
Report all observation of defects or potential failure on machinery, mechanical equipment and mechanical tools.
Troubleshooting mechanical breakdown/ malfunctions.
Perform mechanical repairs.
Carry out outlined daily routine and preventive maintenance checks.
Assist in all scheduled corrective maintenance activities.
Safety compliance
Assist in resolving downtime mechanical issues promptly and effectively
Undertake any other task or routine maintenance assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of Trade Test in related field or ND in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
Good Technical Knowledge of Mechanical systems and equipment.
Ability to identify and select appropriate tools or equipment for use relative to assigned work task given.
Good problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of basic Safety requirements.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.

About the Job
The ideal candidate will be responsible for all Electrical systems in the Power Plant and provide the necessary routine maintenance and ensure 100% availability of the plant systems.
Responsibilities
Oversee the Electrical team in resolving issues highlighted as part of analysis from the planning and efficiency team.
Ensure high availability of all Electrical equipment and systems in the power plant.
Minimize cost of maintenance of the plant and optimize equipment lifecycle cost.
Supervision of maintenance measures in Electrical maintenance unit and ensuring quality maintenance.
Respond to any electrical equipment malfunction or breakdown.
Ensure proper record of faults and repairs on plant electrical systems.
Ensure availability of spares and other infrastructure for maintenance.
Minimize response time to the Operations unit for handling routine day-to-day problems.
Optimize Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
Plan resource requirements for electrical maintenance–manpower, materials, and contracts.
Qualifications
First Degree Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
3-5 years’ experience in the Power Industry.
Member of COREN, Post Graduate degree and other certifications are added advantages.
Experience in a Power plant of minimum 20MW capacity.
Experience in any other oil and gas process or production facility.
Skills / Knowledge:
Technical knowledge of all electrical systems.
Understanding of working of equipment and history of equipment.
Knowledge of standard operating procedures with respect to maintenance of Electrical system.
Good knowledge of troubleshooting and maintenance of switchgears, motors, UPS/DC systems.
Technical trouble shooting and ability to identify root cause of problems to avoid recurrence.
Knowledge of safety requirements and environmental aspects of power generation.
Knowledge of modern maintenance management practices and spares inventory management.
Knowledge of statutory guidelines related to electrical equipment Knowledge of Engineering.
Experience in Low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems. Experience in 132KV HV systems is an added advantage.
Skilled in maintenance planning, scheduling, and technical reporting.
Ability to carry out preventive and proactive interventions of plant electrical systems using OEM design schematics with minimal supervision.

Job Summary / Role description
Operation Field Operator executes the activities pertaining to the operation of an entire unit of the Plant.
He operates in compliance with the quality requirements, health/environmental/safety regulations and following the stated procedures.
He can operate in one of the following different fields according to the specific project: Power, Oil and Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical
Operation Field Operator execute the Plant / Area Operation shift function in providing operational service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure.
Duties and responsibilities
Operating in field, under the instruction of the Operation Board Operator / Shift Supervisor, he is responsible to maintain in operation under safe condition the plant/unit/equipment at the maximum required efficiency point keeping the production or other detectable parameter at higher point.
In case of trip or partial load, have to operate and remove the constraint and increase again the load.
Overlap his colleague to bring all remarks and happenings of the plant during his shift off.
Read carefully the written handovers in the Control Room logbook.
Apply lockout and other safety procedures for equipment under maintenance.
He follows Shift Supervisor and Board Operator instructions to operate the plant in field being physically present close to the starting machine or any other equipment.
Checks for smoke leaks, noises, vibrations, fluid levels, instrument readings and any kind of abnormal condition in the field.
He operates in shift on 24/7 basis
To manage the operations in field of the assigned team by controlling their job and the implementation of Plant Safety procedures in case of emergency.
To check that the safe conditions for maintenance teams are in place before issuing the Permit to Work in cooperation with Shift Supervisor
He issues PTW (permits to work) and is responsible for the safety condition of the item being under maintenance applying the lockout procedure. He must also apply all other safety procedures in compliance with Site Safety Plan in cooperation with Shift Supervisor
With the change of the shift, the Shift Operator leaving the plant have to inform the coming shift supervisor about the plant condition and undergoing test or operations with written notice on the logbook assuring the coming shift supervisor have a clear picture of the plant condition.
Manage process offline sampling
He has to manage, if necessary, the communication with the external interfaces.
Overlaps his colleague to bring all remarks and happenings of the plant during his shift off.
Checks the plant in each one of its systems and especially in its running equipment to identify possible troubles.
Checks alarms and blocks on DCS alarm page
Organizes normal assistance to the maintenance team during their job.
Reports his colleagues about any problems arose during his shift. (Any problems must be written in the control room logbook).
He is responsible for filling in the control room logbook with all remarks needed about operation, maintenance, trip and incident occurred during the shift.
Liaises with OWNER’s operation & maintenance team and Vendors Representatives.
