Job Summary / Role description
Operation Shift Supervisor executes the activities pertaining to the operation of an entire unit of the Plant.
He operates in compliance with the quality requirements, health/environmental/safety regulations and following the stated procedures.
He can operate in one of the following different fields according to the specific project: Power, Oil and gas, Refinery, Petrochemical.
Operation Shift Supervisor leads the Plant / Area Operation shift function in providing operational service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure.
Manage the team on technical best practice and apply standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading the department.
Apply continuous improvement principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
Duties and responsibilities
He is responsible to maintain in operation under safe condition, and with a written instruction of the operation Superintendent the plant/unit/equipment at maximum efficiency point keeping the production or other detectable parameter at higher point.
In case of trip or partial load, have to operate and remove the constraint and increase again the load.
To organize and manage the operations in field of the assigned team by controlling their job and the implementation of Plant Safety procedures in case of emergency.
To check that the safe conditions for maintenance teams are in place before issuing the Permit to Work.
He issues PTW (permits to work) and is responsible for the safety condition of the item being under maintenance applying the lockout procedure. He must also apply all other safety procedures in compliance with Site Safety Plan.
With the change of the shift, the shift supervisor leaving the plant have to inform the coming shift supervisor about the plant condition and undergoing test or operations with written notice on the logbook assuring the coming shift supervisor have a clear picture of the plant condition.
He has to manage, if necessary, the communication with the external interfaces.
Overlaps his colleague to bring all remarks and happenings of the plant during his shift off.
Checks the plant in each one of its systems and especially in its running equipment to identify possible troubles.
Checks alarms and blocks on DCS alarm page
Organizes normal assistance to the maintenance team during their job.
Reports his colleagues about any problems arose during his shift. (Any problems must be written in the control room logbook).
He is responsible for filling in the control room logbook with all remarks needed about operation, maintenance, trip and incident occurred during the shift.
He operates in shift on 24/7.
Coordinates Client Operation team to have a smooth running of the plant according Contractual Requirements.
Execute the day-by-day planning following the priorities indicated by the OWNER operation personnel to optimize the OWNER’s production goal.
Ensures that OWNER’s quality standards and safety procedures are being followed by CONTRACTOR’s operating personnel.
Coordinates with OWNER’s Supervisors in charge to meet with OWNER’s production goals and how the CONTRACTOR’s operation supervision team is working to meet those goals.
Liaises with OWNER’s operation & maintenance team and Vendors Representatives. He/she has the following responsibilities (direct or advising according to contractual requirements):
To ensure the implementation of the HSE management system at site with reference to their area of operation.
To organize and lead, along with the relevant Supervisors, periodical meetings
To participate to production meeting with the Client.
To promote Field revisions of the detailed Production Schedule.
To verify congruity of the works with technical specification.
To verify material delivery schedule to coordinate operation activities and optimize the relevant schedule.
With the collaboration of the Site Control Manager, to support to the preparation of detailed maintenance and turnaround (where applicable) schedules and define priorities.
To check that schedules are kept to and to promote remedial actions.
To coordinate all site activities, and interfaces between Disciplines, with the aim of limiting work overlap.
To prepare his own section of routine work progress reports.

Job Summary / Role description
To execute the Piping Inspection and Maintenance activities of the Plant, Utilities and Offsite Equipment
Duties and responsibilities
To receive the work orders relative to the mechanical inspection, to organize for the pertinent teams, material and tools to carry out the job, strictly under PTW procedure.
To ensure that Maintenance resources, subcontractors and vendors are available and fit to the task.
To check periodically all the pipework highlighting any mis operation of the item.
To ensure that spares are ready at hand and staff has been briefed on the task expected.
To raise a risk assessment case when further Safety investigations are advisable.
To strictly follow the OES (original equipment supplier/manufacturer) instructions on inspection and maintenance and servicing of the pipework. To ensure the presence of the vendor when required.
To ensure that the pipework to be maintained has been mechanically, electrically and process isolated, instructing the teams to post the pertinent warnings on the piping.
To ensure the HSE continuous/spot presence as applicable from the PTW.
To ensure that the working team issues an exhaustive report about the job carried out for CMMS purposes.
To ensure to respect the timing provided for the job, reporting eventual delays and deviations.
To monitor the frequency of failures on similar items reporting eventual discrepancies.
To ensure that clear communication is passed to the users for end of Maintenance Job and equipment ready to be operated.
To contribute to raise the yearly budget as required, cooperating with Maintenance Engineering and Material Specialist for its finalization.
Actively follow the Mechanical W/S to be adequately equipped and resource like fit to the purpose.
Maintain the testing and calibrating equipment in good working order.
To make sure that all mechanical crews have received the right HSE training.
Qualification and Experience
Candidates should possess a University Degree
Experiences in Refinery operation
Plant for the gas treatment
