Job Title: QAQC Inspector
Location: Bonny Island, Rivers

Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to check the quality of incoming and outgoing materials or products for the company, as well as the production procedures. This job involves tasks such as running tests, keeping a record of defects, analyzing products, and overseeing procedures
Responsibilities
Strategic Task:
Draw up technical specifications to promote the arrest and control of corrosion by high performance protective coatings and insulation and with particular regard to various methods of surface preparation and specialist application procedures.
Operational:
Review and understand the requirement of the project Coating & Insulation Specifications, ITPs, QCPs, MS etc.
Inspection & Testing of the in-progress work to ensure compliance with the project specification requirements.
Coordinate the field activities with site teams.
Maintain a record of all inspection calls and Non conformance reports and produce a weekly quality report.
Advises on the coating systems, insulation systems and monitors the application.
Drawing up work procedures for all practical aspects of the insulation jobs to be carried out.
Assess the integrity of coatings, insulation, etc. and reports atmospheric corrosion effects on coatings and other corrosion damages to coatings applied to the Lines.
Inspection on erection of Piping’s, structural items, valves, fittings, supports, flanges etc. on all lines.
Ensure the use of client approved materials.
Dimensional checking of fabricated spools as per isometrics and reviewing the radiography.
Preparation of punch list and coordinate with construction.
Ensure the storage painting and insulation materials as per manufacturer’s recommendations.
Requirements
As a minimum he shall have 5 years’ experience as a QAQC Inspector with a focus on Oil & Gas fabrication projects and construction engineering in the oil and gas industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineer, Chemical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer
Conversant with International Standards/Codes such as ASTM, ISO, SSPC, NACE , NORSOK, PIP.
Familiar with procedures relating to Project Specifications/Standards/Codes/Safety Regulations, QCP, ITP, MS, P&ID and piping isometric drawings.
Good knowledge in the Application, Inspection and Testing of various types of above ground and underground protective coatings and insulation such as Liquid Coatings, FBE Coating and Linings, Coal Tar Epoxy, Polyester Glass Flake, Vinyl Ester, 3LPE/3LPP/5LPP including Field Joint Coatings, Hot Dip Galvanizing (Zinc Coating), TSA, Wrapping and HSS Application. Rock Wool, Calcium Silicate, Foam Glass, Polyisocyanurate (PIR), PUF etc…
Internationally approved inspection certification such as NACE 3/ERS
Proven leadership skills, including the ability to lead and mentor a team of cost control professionals.
Effective negotiation skills for managing contracts, change orders, and cost-related issues with suppliers and contractors.

Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and ensure compliance with the law
Participate in periodic self-audits conducted by the Corporate Compliance Department
Recommend solutions, improvement opportunities or preventive measures
Serve as a coach and mentor for less experienced staff.
Requirements
As a minimum he shall have 5 years’ extensive experience in safety management, risk assessment operations management and quality control in the oil and gas industry.
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Experience of working with an international E&C company.
In dept knowledge of safety regulations ensuring compliance with all relevant codes
Knowledge of relevant software package.
Strong communication skills and is able to establish relationship with key stakeholders
Effective negotiation skills for managing contracts, change orders, and cost-related issues with suppliers and contractors.
