Job Title: Community Engagement Assistant
Location: Borno
Job Summary
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring active community engagement and information sharing at project locations; planning and implementing activities related to community mobilization, awareness creation, and information dissemination to effectively reach and involve community members, and other activities under the M&A project.
Person Specification
Minimum of National Diploma in Social Sciences/ Art or related field is essential.
Membership of relevant professional bodies and agencies is desirable.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in humanitarian responses context with a strong focus on both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies is essential.
Experience in organizing and managing community events is essential.
Previous experience in Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) is essential.
Proven ability to interact with community members, leaders, and partners is essential.
Background in addressing community concerns and resolving issues effectively is essential.
Proven experience using ODK for quantitative data collection is essential.
Related experience on WFP funded project is desirable.
Skill / Abilities:
Excellent knowledge on the management key stakeholders and community mobilisation
Excellent communication and time management skills
Fluency in written and spoken fluency in English; additional fluency in Hausa is preferred .
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent strategic planning skills

Job Purpose
The post holder will provide technical support and guidance in meeting the monitoring and evaluation requirements of the ActionAid Nigeria humanitarian projects at all levels.
S/he will develop strategy and expertise on the results framework, key milestones, and monitoring & evaluation plan for the project.
The M&E Advisor will also with support from the ActionAid Nigeria’sImpact Assessment and Shared Learning Manager ensure that the project teamworkis in compliance with the Organization’s CSP including M&E frameworks and systems.
Specific Responsibilities
Work with the project team to develop specific M&E framework for the Northeast. projects.
Work withproject team to ensure M&E plan meets the projectlog frameindicators.
Support and contribute to the development of innovative knowledge management systems and communication across theproject and other related projects.
Supports M&E operations throughout the life of projects in Northeast.Meeting regularly with the Project Coordinator, to troubleshoot problems, identify solutions and flag best practice.
Actively promote and support shared learning at organisational and inter-organisational levels.
Share and contribute to the development of innovative knowledge management and shared learning initiatives within the work streams of ActionAid Nigeria.
Implementprogramme and organisation learning activities of AAN.
Support Project Coordinatorsto produce reports in partnership with other members of the team.
Support strengthening capacities for improving documentation, monitoring and learning on the project
Support in the management and administration of the AAN Management Information System
Person Specifications
Education / Qualifications:
First Degree in Arts / Humanities or Social Sciences is essential.
Membership of relevant professional bodies is desirable.
Experience:
At least five (5) years’ post NYSC experience in monitoring and evaluation is essential.
Experience on monitoring, evaluation and learning preferably on WFP related project is essential.
Excellent quantitative and qualitative monitoring and evaluation skills and familiarity with the range of approaches and methods currently being deployed in the development sector with focus on feminist M&E is essential.
Experience in community-based work and use of various participatory M&E tools is essential.
Experience in the use of SPSS tool is essential.
Experience working with international development organizations is desirable.
Skills / Abilities:
Excellent working knowledge of Data information systems as well as Excel, Word & Outlook (MS Office in general).
Ability to maintain donor relationship and accountability in line with funding policies and standards.
Experience in facilitating training/meetings.
Excellent Skills in Programme Information Management.
Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
Excellent planning and prioritization skills.
Excellent (proven) interpersonal skills.
Proven Leadership Qualities.
