Job Title: Project Officer

Job Summary
The Project officer is responsible for supporting the Project Manager in the implementation and monitoring of project activities in Benue and Adamawa State ensuring the seamless operation of the project and adherence to both Search and donor requirements.
S/He will maintain and regularly update project plans to ensure alignment with the overarching goals of the project, facilitating smooth implementation and progress tracking.
Additionally, the Project Assistant will assist in the preparation of reports, documentation, and communication with stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability throughout the project's lifecycle.
Roles and Responsibilities
Event and Workshop Coordination:
Providing technical support and assisting in planning and implementing events, including sending invitations, tracking registrations, and coordinating with service providers.
Handle post-event tasks like gathering feedback, compiling statistics, and managing follow-up communications.
Logistics and Administration:
Provide logistical support for events such as meetings, workshops, training, and convening, including coordinating participant arrangements, preparing and distributing meeting materials, and offering on-site logistical assistance, in compliance with Search’s policies.
Coordinate internal team meetings, including scheduling and maintaining detailed meeting notes.
Support project events by assisting in the design and delivery of training and other activities.
Stakeholder Engagement and
Communication:
Build and maintain relationships with project partners and enhance collaboration.
Work closely with government entities and other partners to ensure smooth project implementation.
Represent Search at meetings, seminars, and coordination forums as needed.
Facilitate effective communication and reporting on project activities.
Project Management Support:
Develop and regularly update a detailed, costed work plan in collaboration with the project team.
Ensure timely and high-quality production of project reports.
Provide regular updates to the Project Manager, highlighting any new developments or challenges.
Risk Management and Problem-Solving:
Promptly report any new developments, issues, or challenges encountered during project implementation.
Work with the project team to implement necessary changes and improvements based on monitoring results and feedback
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Peace Building, Development Studies, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
At least 2 years of experience in project implementation, including engagement with several actors – governments, community, and religious leaders, civil society, governments, security organizations specialist networks, etc.
Other Relevant Requirements:
A good understanding of North East and North Central Nigeria, particularly in terms of key political, social, security, and economic issues
Resident in the state of the application, speaks the local language (Hausa, Fulfulde, etc. ), and understands the terrain
Excellent diplomacy and interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a non-partisan manner, appreciating gender, cultural, and ethnic diversity
Ability to work individually, but also with experience of working effectively as part of a team
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively with attention to detail and an orderly approach to tasks
Strong analytical skills, including drafting reports and briefings
Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Must have a ‘hands-on’, practical mentality, be self-driven, and very motivated.

Job Summary
The post holder will receive a context specific ToR for each deployment, which will draw upon the responsibilities outlined below.
Responsibilities
Programme Support (typically will be at field level):
Working closely with the Nutrition Specialist, the Nutrition Project Officer will do the following:
Support the Nutrition Project in ensuring quality screening of all children under five years (6-59 months) and referral systems are in place for all children in the target locations and conduct follow-up visits on children referred.
Promote, protect and support optimal Maternal, Infant and Young Child Nutrition MIYCN practices.
Support Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergency (IYCF-E), identification of lead mothers, training of health workers and community volunteers.
Daily supervision of support group meetings in communities.
Facilitate the formation of Mother to Mother and Father to father support groups meetings and conduct supportive supervision/spot checks during support group meetings.
Provide counselling to caregivers of children with Moderate Acute Malnutrition.
Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (I-MAM) services.
Collate and compile program monthly data reports.
Prepare transport requests for field trips to the program-implementing communities.
Participate in the training of lead mothers and support group members on Food Demonstration
Working closely with the Nutrition Specialist, ensure timely implementation of nutrition activities.
Provide supportive supervision to frontline workers and community nutrition mobilizers in conducting child health campaign and other nutrition interventions
Provide capacity building and trainings to community nutrition mobilizers, health workers and Community Nutrition Mobilizers on IYCF-E and referral mechanism.
Ensure monthly and quarterly follow up with Community Mobilizers and community leaders through review/feedback meetings.
Work closely with the MEAL team to ensure that data are captured in a correct and accurate manner
Compile and submit weekly progress report. Actively participate in Health and Nutrition Sector Working Groups .
Capacity Building:
Identify learning and training opportunities for staff and volunteers and communicate to the Nutrition Specialist.
Ensure all OTP/SFP team members are familiar with their posts.
Representation, Advocacy &
Organizational Learning:
Coordinate RAWYOD’s work with other agencies and government and support interagency forums to advocate for children’s needs. This may involve working groups in LGAs, IDP camps, host communities, or project sites.
Contribute to communications and media work as required through correction of data and information and sharing with the RAWYOD’s Advocacy and Communication Manager.
General:
Comply with RAWYOD policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
Requirements
Essential:
Health / Public Health / Nutrition / BSc or equivalent with minimum of 2years progressive experience post NYSC
Experience in Nutrition and community-based programming
Experience of emergency nutrition work (preferably I-MAM) and implementation of feeding programs, including monitoring and evaluation
Proven capacity of management, leadership and teamwork
Excellent communication skills and a willingness to be respectful, kind, sensitive and empathize with all beneficiaries and their careers.
Commitment to and understanding of RAWYOD’s aims, values and principles.
Fluency in written and spoken English and local languages.
Computer literacy is mandatory
Desirable:
Master trainer and good facilitator
Experience in conducting nutrition assessments and an understanding of nutritional surveillance and information systems.
