Job Title: Manager, Regional Technical Operations
Location: Kano
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Purpose
As Manager, Technical Operations, you will ensure network quality standards and service commitments are achieved through effective monitoring and coordination of regional technical staff across assigned region.
Also, act as primary interface with management on technical and engineering deliverables within the region.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Operations:
Manage and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners within the assigned region.
Demonstrate thorough understanding of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) tasks and regional targets. Motivate team-members towards achievement of such tasks and targets.
Communicate relevant information and feedback from management to Field Operations Team Leaders, Field Service Engineers, Technicians and Contractors.
Monitor management of network assets across region and trigger consequence management where evidence of mismanagement arises.
Review need for Capex replacement and trigger replacement request process.
Ensure all reports (statistical and registers) are accurate and available as and when due. • Provide inputs to the regional budget.
Notify Service Maintenance Contractors (SMCs) of sites where they are required to deploy security and ensure that Quality Auditors (QAs) are promptly informed of security deployment to sites as it occurs.
Ensure optimal supply of diesel to sites to prevent site downtime. Also, communicate diesel needs to the Associate Director, Operations.
Ensure SMCs carry out Site Readiness Audits and escalate issues to Regional Project Coordinator for resolution.
Collate daily Decommissioned Asset Checklists and validate with Field Service Engineers before forwarding to Project Coordinator.
Populate Customer Upgrade Request Forms (CURFs) and share with Regional QAs to ensure all CURF requirements are met.
Manage and appraise performance of Field Operations Team Leaders based on set Key Result Areas (KRAs). Identify training needs and act as mentor to subordinates.
Steer weekly governance meetings and engagements. • Ensure required tools of trade are available to team-members and utilized effectively and efficiently.
Track progress on all O&M deliverables within the region and provide timely feedback to the Associate Director, Operations to enhance decision-making.
Proactively communicate O&M status, issues and risks to management.
Share accountability for overall regional compliance with policies, procedures, and methodologies.
Conduct regular status meetings with all stakeholders, ensuring follow-through on all agreed actions, needs and requirements.
Ensure smooth and timely integration of new network elements into the operational network.
Manage and ensure conformity to quality processes and systems.
Ensure all commercial responsibilities such as Supply Chain invoicing and project execution receive prompt attention across all control points within the region.
General Duties:
Promote communication among colleagues to drive information flow and curb problems that arise.
Prepare and submit reports to the Associate Director, Operations on all matters relating to regional operations.
Manage relationships with partners/ vendors.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director, Operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical/ Electronic Engineering, and/ or any other related discipline.
Professional certifications such as CCNA or PMP will be an added advantage.
+10 years’ related experience in telecoms operations and maintenance

Job Title: Senior Specialist, Supplier Diligence and Performance

Key Responsibilities
Supplier Qualification and Management:
Conduct thorough pre-contract award supplier assessments, aligning with company standards.
Enforce compliance with the IHS Supplier Code of Conduct across all vendor relationships.
Manage and maintain Supplier Master Data and FRx on the system for nominated suppliers, adhering to standard operating procedures (SOP).
List vendors on the system
Audit and Documentation Management:
Lead or participate in on-site or remote supplier audits following relevant standards.
Develop and maintain an annual audit plan, tracking schedules, completion status, and report processing timelines.
Ensure timely updates of audit and supplier meeting registers, as well as schedules for KPI achievement/misses.
Document and enforce penalties related to KPI and SLA misses with legal support.
Ensure all documents are saved on the shared drive according to SOP.
Performance Oversight:
Monitor and track supplier performance against agreed KPIs and SLAs, capturing them in the SLA/KPI framework.
Assume responsibility for the performance of contracted commodity suppliers, ensuring the achievement of annual contractual targets.
Identify and onboard new vendors per category to diversify the vendor base and create a Preferred Supplier listing.
Reporting and Due Diligence:
Generate monthly or weekly reports detailing meeting outcomes, KPI tracking, audits performed, vendor listing progress, and outstanding documentation.
Complete prequalification due diligence within a two-working-day turnaround time.
Collect, engage, and list new vendors within seven working days.
Oversee risk management within your scope, implementing mitigation plans for supplier concerns and conducting financial reviews of strategic suppliers.
Initiate and drive problem-solving efforts with suppliers concerning non-compliant materials or defects.
Contribute to cost reduction projects and conduct regular reviews with internal customer representatives to gauge satisfaction levels.
Risk Assessment and Due Diligence:
Identify and categorize potential risks associated with each supplier, considering financial stability, operational capacity, geopolitical issues, market volatility, and regulatory compliance.
Conduct comprehensive assessments of supplier financial health, performance history, and operational capabilities, including financial audits, credit checks, and performance evaluations.
Ensure supplier contracts are clear and comprehensive, outlining expectations, KPIs, compliance requirements, dispute resolution mechanisms, and penalties.
Verify supplier adherence to all relevant laws and regulations, including environmental, labor, safety, and ethical standards.
Assess data security and privacy measures for suppliers handling sensitive company data.
Evaluate geopolitical factors, supplier location risks, and dependencies on specific regions or suppliers.
Continuously monitor supplier financial stability and develop contingency plans.
Keep records of all due diligence activities, assessments, audits, and communications with suppliers for legal and compliance purposes.
Regularly review and update supplier risk management and due diligence processes to adapt to changing business environments and emerging risks.
Collaborate with various departments, including legal, finance, procurement, and supply chain, to gain a holistic view of supplier-related risks.
