NGO Job Opening: Communication and Campaign Manager at the Civil Society Scaling-Up Nutrition in Nigeria (CS-SUNN)
The Civil Society Scaling-Up Nutrition in Nigeria (CS-SUNN) is a non-governmental, non- profit-making coalition, made up of organizations with a shared vision to transform Nigeria into a country where every citizen is food and nutrition secured. We pursue this lofty goal by engaging government and non-state actors to raise awareness, sustain commitment and actions to effectively tackle under-nutrition in Nigeria. The coalition was formally launched on the 7th of August, 2014.

Job Title: Communication and Campaign Manager

Role Overview
The Communication and Campaign Manager is responsible for leading and integrating the Communications and Campaign and IT units to drive the organization’s advocacy efforts through digital transformation.
This role requires a visionary leader who can leverage technology, innovative strategies, and digital communications to create high-impact campaigns, enhance public engagement, and ensure the smooth operation of IT systems.
Key Responsibilities
Advocacy and Campaign Strategy:
Develop and implement innovative advocacy campaigns that align with the organization’s mission and objectives.
Lead the integration of digital tools and platforms to enhance advocacy efforts and public engagement.
Collaborate with stakeholders, policymakers, and partner organizations to amplify the organization’s advocacy voice.
Analyze social, political, and legislative trends to inform and shape campaign strategies.
Rebranding and Reinnovation of CS-SUNN:
Lead the rebranding and reinnovation efforts for CS-SUNN to modernize its image, ensuring that its public identity reflects its mission and values.
Oversee the development and implementation of a new brand strategy that strengthens stakeholder engagement, awareness, and support.
Ensure that the rebranding aligns with advocacy goals, campaigns, and digital platforms for a cohesive public presence.
Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure buy-in and alignment with the rebranding process.
Communications Management:
Oversee the development of strategic communication plans, ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms.
Manage public relations, media outreach, and content creation for digital and traditional platforms, including websites, social media, and newsletters.
Act as a spokesperson for the organization and manage relationships with key media outlets.
Ensure effective storytelling that resonates with diverse audiences, amplifying the impact of advocacy campaigns.
Digital and IT Management:
Oversee the IT unit to ensure the digital infrastructure supports organizational goals, advocacy campaigns, and communications strategies.
Lead the implementation of new digital tools, platforms, and technologies to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and campaign effectiveness.
Manage the organization's website, CRM systems, and data analytics platforms, ensuring they are secure, functional, and optimized for performance.
Collaborate with the IT team to ensure technology aligns with advocacy and communication needs, supporting digital transformation across the organization.
Innovation and Digital Transformation:
Drive digital innovation by identifying and implementing cutting-edge technologies that enhance campaign outreach and engagement.
Stay ahead of trends in digital advocacy, social media, and communication technologies to keep the organization at the forefront of digital transformation.
Lead the exploration of new digital platforms and innovative solutions that increase the organization’s impact and effectiveness.
Team Leadership and Development:
Manage, mentor, and coordinate the activities of the IT, Communications, and Campaign teams, fostering collaboration and innovation.
Ensure all teams are aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives and have the tools and resources to perform effectively.
Provide regular feedback, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance the team’s capabilities in digital advocacy and campaign management.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of digital campaigns, advocacy efforts, rebranding initiatives, and IT systems.
Use data analytics and reporting tools to evaluate campaign performance, adjusting strategies to maximize impact.
Provide regular reports to senior management on the outcomes of advocacy campaigns, digital initiatives, and IT performance.
Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices in digital security.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Information Technology, Political Science, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
At least 7-10 years of experience in advocacy, communications, campaign management, or IT management within an NGO/INGO.
Proven track record of leading digital advocacy campaigns, rebranding efforts, and implementing innovative communication strategies.
Strong understanding of IT systems, digital tools, and technologies used to support advocacy, campaigns, and organizational operations.
Excellent leadership, project management, and strategic thinking skills.
Proficiency in digital marketing, content management systems, and data analytics platforms.
