Since 2014, we have been implementing our Sun Books digital learning initiative to provide children in Nigeria, Uganda, and Kenya with access to high-quality educational resources. By integrating literacy, solar power, and digital technology,Sun Booksis transforming education in off-grid areas. The platform offers over 800 eBooks, interactive literacy activities, and teaching resources. We also provide ongoing teacher training to ensure that education is both sustainable and impactful. Job Description
As a key member of our small, dynamic team, the Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator will play an essential role in expanding the charity’s impact, enhancing awareness, and securing vital support for our initiatives.
This individual will be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with donors, partners, and key stakeholders while leading creative and impactful fundraising and marketing strategies.
The ideal candidate is proactive, confident, and resourceful, with a passion for raising our profile and inspiring support for our mission.
Responsibilities
Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with businesses, individuals, donors, and stakeholders to create long-term support for the charity’s mission.
Plan and coordinate fundraising events and networking opportunities, ensuring alignment with the charity’s goals and maximizing engagement with potential donors and partners.
Researching, preparing and submitting grant proposals and funding applications, ensuring alignment with funders’ priorities to maximize success.
Manage relationships with donors, supporters, and key stakeholders, ensuring sustained involvement in the charity’s work.
Raise the charity’s profile through strategic efforts across multiple channels, increasing visibility within the community and among target audiences.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of fundraising and marketing activities, using data to optimize strategies and improve outcomes.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.
Proven ability to build long-term relationships with supporters, donors, and partners, fostering loyalty and trust.
Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and prioritise effectively.
Ability to think strategically and creatively, developing marketing and fundraising approaches that resonate with target audiences.
A proactive self-starter who takes initiative, works well independently, and thrives in a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Arts, Marketing, Humanities, or a related field (essential).
At least 5 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role, ideally within the charity or development sector.
Experience in writing proposals and funding applications is preferred

A creative, confident individual with a strong desire to make a positive impact.
Strong ability to network and build connections with diverse groups of people.
Excellent communication skills and a keen attention to detail in all aspects of work.

N400,000 - N500,000 / Month.
