The Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (German Agency for International Cooperation) is an international enterprise owned by the German Federal government, operating in many fields across more than 130 countries.
In Nigeria, GIZ's portfolio includes among others, a programme to support the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in its regional integration goals. The programme aims to strengthen sector-specific capacities in the areas of Peace and Security, Customs and Trade as weir as Strategic Management and Organizational Development in the ECOWAS Commission.

The Project
Sustainable and Inclusive Economic Development for Decent Employment in Nigeria (SEDIN) Programme:
The Sustainable and Inclusive Economic Development for Decent Employment in Nigeria (SEDIN) Programme is implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The programme focuses on enhancing the competitiveness of Nigerian micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to foster growth and employment. It achieves this through three key components:
Policy Support (BEE) and Sustainable Infrastructure
Entrepreneurship Ecosystem
Access to Markets
Responsibilities & Tasks
Responsibilities:
Handle general administrative functions of GIZ-SEDEC, including front desk duties.
Provide general administrative support to field offices or the main office in Abuja.
Undertake general administrative duties in Abuja and field offices, including travel logistics.
Tasks:
Manage general administrative functions, including front desk operations for GIZ-SEDEC.
Provide administrative support to both field offices and the main office in Abuja.
Coordinate and manage travel logistics for Abuja and field offices.
Purchase flight tickets for staff and consultants, and liaise with the travel agent for flight-related issues. Follow up on receivables related to flight tickets.
Administer the petty cash system and process payments.
Maintain and update the central filing system, general database, and archives.
Participate in procurement, logistics, and contract processing.
Coordinate equipment and materials needed for meetings or workshops.
Required Qualifications, Competences, and Experience
Qualifications:
National Diploma in Administration or a related field of study.
Professional Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar position.
High level of accuracy is essential for this role.
Other Knowledge and Competences:
Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Excellent communication skills.
Proficiency in ICT technologies, including relevant software, phone, fax, email, and internet applications.
Advanced skills in computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
Salary
According to GIZ Salary Scale for Band 2.
