Job Summary
We are currently seeking a Category Management Specialist to be responsible for supporting in developing and executing category strategies to optimize the organization's procurement processes and reduce costs.
This role involves analysing spend data, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements, and managing relationships with key suppliers.
Requirements
You’re a strong candidate if you have:
Certifications in any of the following will be an advantage: The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), Nigerian Institute of Purchasing and Supply (NIPS), Chartered Institute of Supply Chain Management (CISCM), Six Sigma, or other relevant procurement and supply chain certifications.
5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain operations.
Strong decision-making skills.
Analytical and problem-solving capabilities for managing complexities and risks.
Familiarity with supply chain technologies.
You’ll help our teams and clients succeed by:
Conducting in-depth category analysis to identify strategic sourcing opportunities.
Developing and implementing comprehensive category strategies, including sourcing strategies, supplier rationalization plans, and cost reduction initiatives.
Establishing category performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to be included in contracts.
Building strong relationships with key suppliers.
Collaborating with suppliers to develop innovative solutions and improve performance.
Negotiating favourable contracts and agreements with suppliers.
Developing and implementing cost-saving initiatives, such as supplier consolidation, volume discounts, and value engineering.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, and engineering, to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
