Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and experienced MEL Officer to join our team.
This role is integral to our mission, ensuring the effectiveness, accountability, and continuous improvement of our programs.
Key Responsibilities
As the MEL Officer, you will:
Design and implement MEL frameworks for ongoing and new projects.
Develop and update key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program outcomes.
Ensure accurate and timely data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Facilitate the use of evaluation findings to inform program design and improvement.
Manage project databases, ensuring data accuracy and security.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for projects
Support grant reporting requirements by providing comprehensive MEL documentation.
Train staff and partners on MEL tools and processes.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Economics, or related fields.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in MEL, preferably in the non-profit or development sector.
Strong knowledge of MEL frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
Proficiency in data collection and analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Excel, Power BI, or similar tools).
Experience in designing and implementing surveys, focus groups, and other data collection methods.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Familiarity with gender-focused and rights-based approaches to development is an added advantage.
Willingness to travel to project locations when required.
